Hoyt Davidson

Hoyt Davidson is the founder and Managing Partner of Near Earth LLC, an investment bank providing M&A advisory, private placement and financial and strategic consulting services to the commercial space industry. Clients include major companies, institutional investors, and early-stage entrepreneurial firms.

Hoyt received a Physics degree from MIT and upon graduation spent six years in the Space Systems Division of Lockheed leaving as a Senior Research Engineer to return to MIT for an MBA. At MIT’s Sloan School of Management, Mr. Davidson was awarded the Henry B. duPont III scholarship for academic excellence and headed to Wall Street where he rose to the level of Managing Director at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and later at Credit Suisse. At DLJ in the mid-1990s, he co-founded the Space Finance Group, the first coverage group focused on the commercial satellite industry. This group had a #1 ranking for the sector for many years and raised over $15 billion for commercial satellite companies. In 2002, he left Credit Suisse to start Near Earth LLC, to continue helping space-related companies grow.

Mr. Davidson currently serves on the Board of the Space Foundation, where he served as Treasurer from 2016 – 2019 and is the Executive Vice President of the National Space Society where he oversees policy, international and technology roadmap. He has formerly served on the NASA Advisory Council for Commercial Space and the board of NanoRacks LLC. Mr. Davidson currently serves on the Advisory Boards of Lynk Global, Nexteon Technologies, CisLunar Industries and the Beyond Earth Institute.

Tim Chrisman
Foundation for the Future, Executive Director

Tim is a former CIA intelligence officer who supported the National Space Council, a retired Army intelligence officer, and a former intelligence advisor to the Joint Staff at the Pentagon. He holds two master’s degrees — one in Intelligence Studies, and one in International Relations and Affairs from American University — and is the author of the book “Humanity in Space.” Tim’s next challenge and mission is to make space accessible, survivable, and routine for human exploration and migration.

Joseph D. Fargnoli
New York Space Alliance
Mr. Fargnoli is the cofounder of the New York Space Alliance and Managing Director of an associated New York based investing group.  He is passionate about working with a range of early stage New Space companies bringing New York’s financial, legal, marketing, technical and manufacturing capacity to help realize the potential in moon shot opportunities.  
 
Joseph’s areas of technical expertise are in the design and development of telecommunication and remote sensing systems particularly with regards to the exploitation of SAR, hyperspectral and multispectral phenomenology and in the integration with imagery and other forms of information from multiple modalities and sources. In particular, Joseph has expertise in the development of informatics solutions incorporating remote sensing image science with modern analytic architectures and cloud based IT infrastructure. 
 
His career background includes Northrop Grumman Electronic Sensors and Systems group working on Civil and National Electro-Optical as well as SAR system and Kodak/ITT/Exelis/Harris with focus on National and Commercial systems.  He also served as a Technical Fellow within the NRO.
 
Joseph holds an MS in Optics from the University of Rochester, an MS in Telecommunications and Computers from the George Washington University a BS in Mathematics and MS degree in Electrical Engineering from The State University of New York, and is also a graduate of the Eastman Kodak Image Science Career Development Programs as well as the Westinghouse/Northrop Grumman Radar Systems Training Program and is currently engaged in advanced graduate studies in remote sensing informatics at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
